Settings

Fin Wallet allows users to customize the way they interact with the application. Below are the supported features in the current version:

  • Security & Privacy

  • Language

  • Currency

  • Contacts

  • Network

  • Destroy account

  • Reset wallet

Security & privacy

Step 1: Navigate to the Settings menu

Step 2: Click on Security & Privacy.

Step 3: Select the method for authentication

  • PIN Code: Set up a 4-digits PIN code

  • Biometric: Select FaceID or Fingerprint if your phone supports these features.

After setting up, the app automatically requires FaceID or Fingerprint upon opening the app. You can also choose to hide your wallet addresses if needed.

Note: If you submit an invalid PIN Code 9 times, your wallet will be reset and deleted from the app, you need to use the wallet's recovery keys to restore your wallet again.

The same process can be applied in case of switching the authentication from PIN Code to Biometric or vice versa.

Step 4: Configure the Auto-Lock period with the available options

Step 5: The system will require authentication whenever a transaction is issued.

Set up Language

Step 1: In the Settings section, click Language.

Step 2: Select the language you want to set up.

Currency

Step 1: In the Settings section, click Currency.

Step 2: Select the currency you want to change.

Manage contacts

Search contacts

To search for a contact, users can easily click on the Search icon on the Manage Contacts screen.

Add contacts

Step 1: On the Manage Contacts screen, click the Add icon in the top right corner;

Step 2: Fill in Name, Address, and upload Photo (optional);

Step 3: Click Create to finish creating your new contact.

Edit contacts

Step 1: Select the contact then click on Edit icon on the top right of the screen.

Step 2: Input the fields you want to edit;

Step 3: Click on Confirm to complete the process.

Delete contacts

Step 1: On Manage Contacts screen, select a contact to delete;

Step 2: Click Delete Contact on the bottom of the screen then click on Confirm to delete the selected contact.

Set favorites contacts:

Step 1: On the Manage Contacts screen, select a contact that you want to delete.

Step 2: Click the Start icon on the top right of the screen.

Switch networks

Step 1: In the Settings section, click Manage network.

Step 2: Select the network you want to switch to.

Destroy Account

Destroy account is to be used only when strictly necessary, most often to resolve stuck and pending transactions. This function will wipe your transaction history, but keep your wallet in Fin Wallet.

Most users will have no need to reset their account, and we suggest only doing so when recommended by a Support agent.

Step 1: Navigate to Setting menu

Step 2: Click on Destroy Account option

Step 3: Click Confirm to finish destroying your account. There will be a popup to announce that your account will be permanently deleted after 180 days of inactivity.

Reset wallet

A wallet reset essentially returns your Fin Wallet app to the state it was in when you downloaded it: it clears your Secret Recovery Phrase and your accounts from the software.

After you execute a reset, you'll need to re-enter your Secret Recovery Phrase to get access to your wallet again.

Reset wallet will completely remove your wallet from this Fin Wallet install.

Reset wallet helps you to:

  • Stop using your existing Fin wallet and create a new one, with a new Secret Recovery Phrase

  • To reset your waller password, potentially because you've forgotten it.

Step 1: Navigate to the Setting menu

Step 2: Click on Reset Wallet on the bottom of the screen

Step 3: Click Confirm to finish resetting your wallet
